Mission: The Adams Public Library System serves all people of the Decatur and Geneva communities by acquiring, organizing, and providing access and guidance to a wide variety of information and materials to help fulfill the intellectual, educational, social, and recreational needs of this community in an atmosphere that is welcoming, respectful, and businesslike. Located in Decatur and Geneva.
Product and services include reference services, interlibrary loan, laminating, Story Times, computer and Internet services, computer workshops, local history and genealogical collections, meeting room use, travel and sick kid kits, general interest programs. Services for businesses and organizations include Business Library Card, meeting room space, business Go Center collection, reference services. Collections include over 100,000 volumes, over 250 magazines and newspaper subscriptions, over 250 art prints, over 4,000 DVD's and videos, over 1,500 audio-books, CD-ROMs, CDs, online videos and audio books and more. Audio-visual equipment is also available upon request.
The library provides many resources for the good of the community from reference resources, computer and Internet use, meeting room use, literacy help for adults, pre-literacy skills development, crafting workshops, story times and more.
The library board received a LINK Award from the Indiana Library Federation / Indiana Library Trustee Association in November 2007, is a partner of the 4Community Partnership Program and resulting project (2005-06), and has celebrated 100 Years of Service (2005-06).
Decatur Chamber of Commerce, Adams County Literacy Council, Indiana Library Federation, Even Start Advisory Council, American Library Association, and Friends of the Decatur Public Library.
