Chamber Golf Outing Enjoyed
"A Success Because of Member Support"
The 59th annual Chamber Golf outing teed of under ominous skies on Friday June 8th at the Grey Goose Golf Club. Thirty teams participated and enjoyed an afternoon of fun and networking with other business leaders.
Play was interrupted for about forty-five minute while a severe storm passed through. Those who could not reach the clubhouse sought whatever shelter was available. Some players were completely drenched. One group of bankers was observed playing barefoot after their shoes where soaked in the downpour.
As the golfers returned to the clubhouse they enjoyed a “hog roast” dinner served by the Grey Goose.
Awards were then presented.
For the 9th straight year the Fleming Excavating team composed of Greg Fleming, Kraig Hart, Bob Goulet and Keith Blythe. Expert Transmission finished second.
Dick Stuery won the closest to the pin 50/50 drawing receiving $185.00 for driving to 6 foot one and one half inches from the pin. Bixler Insurance won the Fifth Third drawing from teams that returned their Fifth Third logo golf ball.
Golf co-chairs Jack Moore and Charlie Walters were pleased with the turnout. Jack Moore said, “ this was one of the best and most successful outings we have hosted. Thanks to all of the participating businesses and sponsors. We hope to see you again next year”.
