Business Expo - 2012 in Review
The fifteenth Spotlight expo took place on Saturday March 10th at Bellmont Middle School. The day was nearly perfect and some sixty businesses and organizations filled facility to near capacity. New this year Science Central brought their Outreach to Space interactive display and the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo presented Those Amazing Animals on stage.
The Adams Public Library received the Mayor’s Choice booth award from Mayor John Schultz. ABC Realty received First Place and SAFE – Supporting All Families Every Day received Second Place from the Decatur City Council.
The day kicked off with WZBD Free Family Bingo hosted by radio personalities Al Converset and Dave Nathan. The next stage event was the Rotary Community Service Auction where over one-hundred fifty people bid on items donated by local businesses.
A special thank-you to: Staff of Bellmont Middle School; Hoosier Pattern (logistic support); MillerTyme (PA and MC duties) and Innovative Concepts (video to gym) and the City of Decatur. We also thank the Spotlight committee that put in numerous hours in planning, set-up, supervision, and tear down. Rick Richardson (Walgreens) served as chairman along with Al Converset (WZBD), Brad Martz (Edward Jones), and Ron Storey (Decatur Daily Democrat).
