Pondering by the Riverside

Wes Knutzman - Decatur Chamber of Commerce Executive Director The first Adams County Advantage was held in Monroe on May 19th at the Monroe United Methodist Church. This was a joint venture between the Berne and Decatur Chambers.

Thirty people attended the event, which allowed people from around Adams County to network with other businesses leaders. The format was “speed networking” where each participant shared their ninety-second “elevator pitch” with the other participants at their table. After everyone had presented the tables rotated so each person had a new group.

The event was well received and we look forward to a repetition of this collaborative effort between the chambers.

The 10th annual Motor Sports Festival car show kicked off on Friday June 18th with a large crowd of participants and visitors. One hundred cars and trucks and six motorcycles visited the courthouse square.

Thanks to the Adams County Commissioners for allowing the use of the courthouse. We also thank the city of Decatur, Steve Krull and Jeremy Gilbert for providing logistics support. Without the help of many people this great event would not happen.

The 2010 Motor Sports Committee was composed of: Ed Gensheimer, chairman; Gary Fifer, Dave Bailey, Carl Stevens, Travis Alexander and Neil Keller.

Thanks to Marks Heating and Air for sponsoring the dash magnets and to Panacea Powder Coatings for sponsoring the food tent.
