Pondering Along the Riverside
As I look out my window at the ice covered St. Marys River and Ponder a new year that as arrived with seeming extreme hast, I want to reflect on the year past and the year ahead.
First I want to thank all the people who worked so hard to make 2007 a successful year at the Chamber. Of course Linda put in many hours to make sure Chamber events happened as planned. She has contact with many Chamber members as well as the public.
Since September Kaylee Prichard has been in the office afternoons as part of the Adams Central Internship program. Kaylee will be leaving us at the end of the first semester to explore other career opportunities.
Many exciting events are on tap for 2008:
We listened to the participants and Spotlight on Decatur will have a new one-day format this year. The committee is planning an exciting, action packed day on Saturday March 8 th Come, BE PART OF IT!
The Chamber Networking Luncheons will continue on the second Monday of each month, at the Woodcrest Campus Center. The cost for 2008 is $10.00.
Last year several people expressed interest in a forming Networking/Referral Groups. We are inviting interested persons to attend an informational meeting on Tuesday January 29th at the Galley to explore formation of such groups.
Thursday March 13th is Decatur Chamber of Commerce night when the Fort Wayne Mad Ants take on the Anaheim Arsenals at the Coliseums. Discount tickets are available by calling the Chamber office.
Beautiful classic cars with fill downtown Decatur on Friday evening June 21st . The Motor Sports Festival has continued to grow and we anticipate continued growth this year.
The Kekionga Festival will revisit our pioneer past on August 22-24 as re-enactors, demonstrators and scouts camp at Riverside Center .
